The Association of Hospitality Industry of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ukrainian Association of Medical Tourism has developed proposals on the conditions of safe operation of accommodation during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. On his Facebook page, the head of AIGU Oleksandr Liev clarified that the recommendations were developed taking into account the practical experience of members of the association who own hotels, boarding houses, health resorts, tourist bases and clinical sanatoriums.
“We also took into account the requirements of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine and regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers to combat the spread of coronavirus COVID-19. In addition, we tried to take into account the experience and best practices
The association asked the State Agency for Tourism Development to take into account the developed recommendations in their work.
In her turn, the director of the State Agency Maryana Oleskiv emphasized on her Facebook page that the work of accommodation facilities should be launched at the first stage of quarantine.
“I believe that we should launch hotels, as well as summer restaurants, in the first wave of easing quarantine. Hotels should work in accordance with the protocol developed by the WHO and the WTO. Now more details on this document together with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, I believe that these are the basic requirements according to which accommodation establishments should operate and can start such work from 12.05.2020. its members.
